The Tunnel Tour

Yesterday we went on a tour around the war tunnels at Cu Chi.  Firstly we went on a bus and drove to a place were they made art and lots of sculptures.  They used egg shells in their work.

Then we got back on the bus and drove to the tunnels, where we got our tickets.  The first thing we did at the tunnels was watch a video about the them.  Then we headed out to have a look at a secret tunnel entrance!  We got to go in it to see who would fit – dad didn’t fit all the way.

Then we looked at a trap and what happens if you step on a board and you fall onto the spikes.  After that they showed us more traps – one of them was a trick door where if you open it, spikes swing at you.

Next we looked at the gun range and dad had a go at shooting.  After that we went down the tunnels – we got a bit lost but we made it to the others and got out.  At the end we got to taste some of the food that they ate in the tunnels during the war (tapioca root).  Finally we got back on the bus and went back to Ho Chi Minh City.

    Hi Seb

Great Blog!! Gosh those traps look dangerous! I’m not sure I would have liked getting lost in those tiny little tunnels in the dark, so you’re very brave! How’s the loom banding going 🙂
    Take care, Love Bev xx
