Today I emptied the recipe book cupboard, which took a little bit of time because there were quite a few books in there!  It also took a bit of time because I was taking photos of those recipes that we want to have access to while we travel.  Flicking through the books was like a trip down a culinary memory lane – there were recipes in there that I had...

This week we started going through our house and working out what to throw away, what to keep (and store), what to give away and what we’ll need to take with us.  This is a job that will go on right up to the day we get on the boat and at times involves a number of thought processes – i.e. when sorting through paperwork – do the kids need all their...

Lease Our House For 12 Months

We’re leaving our big house for 12+ months (from July 2014) & we need you to lease it.
20 acres, 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (and an ensuite), 1.5 kitchens, office space, dinning room, views of the Tamar River etc. 20 minutes outside of Launceston, Tasmania.

Our house needs a little work, some of which we will do in the next few months, but otherwise it is a very relaxed “non-fussy” place that just needs a family (maybe even a couple of pets) to hang out in it for at least 12 months while we are away.

You will be able to move in July 2014 and stay until at least August/September 2015 – we would need you to sign a 1 year lease.

The house will be unfurnished as we’re moving all our stuff into a container (and hopefully getting rid of a lot of things we don’t need!).  The original part of the house has double glazing and there are 2 wood-fires at either end of the house, that keep us toasty in winter (we plan to leave plenty of wood in the wood shed) – we’ve found not having a heat pump has kept our power bill down 🙂

The house lends its self to a large or extended family, with a second small kitchen and bedroom with an ensuite and external door.  There are loads of possibilities for those interested in hanging out in our bit of paradise for a year!

All this for just $375.00 a week!

For anyone willing to watch our 4 year old family friendly Border Collie, Tiger we will look favourably on your application 🙂 – just let us know in your application.  You can see what an awesome dog Tiger is in this video -> click here for the video on Tiger.

Email: info@upsticksandgo.com if you are interested – we would love to hear from you!

and/Or complete the google form below to apply to lease our house.
