A House of Zips

A House of Zips

While staying in a number of caravan parks recently I’ve noticed the number of people who ‘live’ in some of the parks.  This fact was really bought home to us the other day when we saw kids heading off to school from the park we were staying in.  I guess people choose to live permanently in caravan parks for many reasons  – it has an attractive quality in those places that are typical holiday spots like Broome.

However it struck me that if you lived in a large tent like ours on a more permanent basis you would be living in a house of zips!  Every time one of the kids needs to go to the bathroom at night it takes a minimum of 2 zip and sometimes three (depending of the weather).  So thats opening and closing two lots of zips on the way out and on the way back in.  Zips can be loud in the middle of the night!

I’m glad that we are not in this tent indefinitely, as much as I like sleeping in a tent, the noise of those zips is driving me a be bonkers 🙂

Mum, wife, online geek girl, distance runner, adventurer etc. all rolled into one! My job is to make sure we all have clean clothes, food to eat and most importantly that we have a heap of awesome experiences to fill our memory banks!
